K.A.L. is the first release from Dumb Hero records man in the big chair, Mike DeScanza (aka alter-ego Mark Scanlan of Wishaw). After deciding that the only thing he felt capable of doing well on-line was forging beats and musical treats from battered old keyboards, a weird brain and his influences (varying from the good Captain Beefheart and DJ Shadow to the Beta Band, Bert Jansch and the Necterine No9), DeScanza made the bold and correct move of handing over the reigns to us here at Goldfilling for the internet-wide-world-of-zeros-and-ones release of his debut and already critically acclaimed long player, Sunshine, Shadows and Luck. That means that its now available, like all Goldfilling bands and artists, to buy live and here and on the net from all good internet store ( I-Tunes, Napster et al) now!

P.S. Kobra Audio Labs are currently in the wee dark room (studio) doing strange things to some fellow Goldfilling songsters Abacus Roolz tracks as well as collaborating with King Biscuit Time on the track Pirates (beats by K.A.L.). Look out for the Abacus tracks on this label very soon. In an exclusive interview for Goldfilling the elusive DeScanZa/Scanlan managed to dribble a couple of words out from the side of his pint, which we have lovingly translated from Wishaw-ese and which now follow - “I’m an old man in a cramped room making music i like cos no one else will... i hope to release some music this year, my poignant love letter to those twin giants of the 80s, public enemy and the jesus & mary chain, titled ‘tones, drones & broken bones’, a mini-album, will be oot soon... other than that, i’m just happy to see Scotland lifting the world cup anytime soon
